I am in my mid 50's, I have two grown up children and five lovely grandchildren. I have what I consider to be a truly wonderful life, as I feel that spreading the word of Reiki is a really special challenge and one which I relish with love and wonderment. About 13 years ago I was chasing my tail in the rat-race in a managerial role within sales and marketing. However, I came to a point in my life where I just needed to stop and take stock, I was feeling very disillusioned and unfulfilled, and felt a strong need to find out just what I really wanted out of my life. I made the decision to give in my notice and I went onto re-train as a Clinical Aromatherapist and set up a practice in my home. I haven't looked back since. It was not long after this time that I was introduced to Reiki, I studied for a few years before starting to teach in 1996. As soon as I had taken my First Degree Reiki I knew in my heart that this was what I had been searching for all my life. I had at last encountered that inner contentment that had alluded me for so long.

I have been so fortunate in meeting such wonderful people since encountering Reiki, not only with my clients who come along for treatments, but also the many people who have come to me for Reiki training. I have managed to start up several local Reiki Share groups in the area and always support students to enable them to start up groups in their own areas when they return home from courses. Many of my students keep in touch after studying, it is always so lovely to hear how Reiki has changed their lives and has helped to support them with new ventures. Reiki has opened up many doors for me, as I have also been fortunate enough to be able to carry out some voluntary work in Sarajevo a few years ago. This experience proved to be very humbling and yet so rewarding. Below are a few of the photo's I took during my work in Sarajevo. Some are of the people I met and treated whilst others are of the devastation and damage to the buildings in the areas I was working. Some are of the lovely gypsy children we worked with and another of a beautiful little boy in the orphanage. I feel that the photo with the graffiti wall with the word 'WHY' summed it all up so well. |
